I absolutely love the Dragon Age RPG. The world is dark as hell, the system is simple but rich, and — best of all, IMHO — you don’t have to use minis unless you want to, which is the way we did it in the old days.

I enjoy 4E, but any system that pretty much requires the use of computer software to generate a character has missed the point, I think. Dragon Age RPG makes it simple to sit down with some dice, a pencil and paper, and with a little imagination you have a character in about 5 minutes. This is role playing the way I did it as a kid.
