The little town I live in has a No Kill Animal Shelter. It makes me proud.

Yes, I hope the petition gets passed around the internet. I hope they change their minds.

Also, I want to point people in the US at petfinder.com.

It’s where I got Lola, the younger of my German Shepherds. (Cabal I found wandering the country, on the road leading him onto a freeway.) They have 177 White German Shepherds waiting to be adopted, all over the country.

I’ll add that my dog Ferris was a Rottweiller mix, our dog Riley is a White German Shepherd mix, and our dog Seamus is an American Staffordshire Terrier (Bully Breed) and Great Dane Mix. Not that it matters, but he is the sweetest, most gentle, most affectionate dog I’ve ever owned. He’s snoring on the couch behind me as I write this.

All of our dogs are rescues, and the main reason we raise so much money for the Pasadena Humane Society is so other pets and families get a chance to find each other.

That Cumberland County, North Carolina is considering this kind of terrible breed-specific legislation based on nothing more than myth and ignorance is heartbreaking to me. If this passes, a lot of good dogs will be put down for no good reason at all.

Please, please, please tell people you know about this. We have to stop this.
